Hi! I'm Nina.
I'm a professional designer and art director who has been providing print and web design solutions for nearly 20 years. After earning my BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, I moved to NYC, where I landed my first job as a graphic designer at a small design studio. I had my hands in everything from design, to client engagements to press checks. That unique first job gave me the skills to work in any environment. I have since lived and worked in Boston, Rochester and Austin. I've worked for large firms, small agencies, start-ups and in-house departments. I can take a project from conception through production with an in-depth knowledge of the design process for both print and digital design.
I have successfully owned a freelance business for 15 years. I also currently hold the title of Art Director, where I lead a team of B2B and B2C designers. We work with in-house stakeholders on integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns. Projects run the gamut from digital and social campaigns to direct mail, emails, landing pages, video, and print collateral. As the art director, I participate in and oversee everything from high-level tactical strategy and campaign conceptualization to art direction and design execution. As a manager, I guide and advocate for my team. I provide reviews, facilitate 1:1s, offer career coaching, and provide basic project feedback. Previously, I taught Design Communication at Austin Community College for two years.
I'm passionate about smart design and creating cohesive design systems. I solve design problems by thinking through the big-picture and executing down to the finest detail. If you're looking for a designer who only makes things "look pretty", I may not be the designer for you. However, if you're looking for an experienced designer who provides solutions that are smart, strategic, engaging, aesthetically pleasing, and brings results, then we may be a match! Please let me know. I look forward to partnering with you!
